Each quarter, the members of the Looking Glass Cultural Awareness and Equity Committee (CAEC) review nominations of staff members who have gone above and beyond their job requirements to promote cultural awareness and equity on the job. Nominations come mostly from staff peers. Then the committee randomly selects one nominee to win a $100 gift card.
The Fall 2024 recognition nominees were:

And the randomly selected winner from this group was Cassandra. Here are comments made by her peers:
"Cassandra goes above and beyond for her team. Every shift she shows up to, she's there to help youth and assist her fellow teammates. She's always there to advocate for our youth and bring personal experiences to help aid better understanding for their lived experiences. I am proud to work with Cassandra and I feel that she is truly an asset to our work. Cassandra is a hard worker who is always willing to go the extra mile to help. She is always up to learn and grow in her job. I'm so happy to call her my team mate."
"Cassandra Is always first to speak up for marginalized and underrepresented folx, offing a valuable and sometimes radically different perspective when problem solving and advocating for youth in our programs. Her perspective often helps myself and others to balance our ways of thinking and clean our lenses to be able to focus on seeing things as they are and allowing for us to be and present as out best selves. I am constantly challenged by her and impressed with her perspective!"
