Each quarter, the members of the Looking Glass Cultural Awareness and Equity Committee (CAEC) review nominations of staff members who have gone above and beyond their job requirements to promote cultural awareness and equity on the job. Nominations come mostly from staff peers. Then the committee randomly selects one nominee to win a $100 gift card.
This quarter, the nominations were as follows:
Maiyra Espinoza (ella/she/her) Counseling Program Clinical Supervisor
Hazel Hewitt (she/her) Regional Crisis Center Social Service Assistant
Eve Cornelius (she/her) New Roads Site Manager
Savannah Revetta (she/her) Regional Crisis Center Food Service Coordinator
Renee Arreola (she/her) Regional Crisis Center RN Supervisor
New Roads Staff-anonymous
Ryan Lawson (he/him) Regional Crisis Center Social Service Assistant
Mary Kate Coy (she/her) Homeless Youth Services Outreach Coordinator
Adam Todd (he/his) Social Service Assistant at RCC
And the randomly selected winner is Adam Todd, from the RCC. Adam has been with the agency and the RCC since February of 2020.
"Adam was nominated for performing skills groups for youth, focusing on topics such as microaggressions, body positivity, body inclusivity, normalizing all bodies through TED talk and Q&A with youth,” said Renee Arreola, RCC RN Supervisor. “ He is always warm and welcoming to youth and staff alike."
Congrats to all this quarter’s nominees! Work ethic and cultural awareness like you present is what makes this agency great!
