Youth Job Training Program

Operated by Looking Glass Riverfront School and Career Center

Funded by the Lane Workforce Partnership

The Job Training Program is funded by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and operated in partnership with Lane Workforce Partnership.

This Program is funded in part by the USDA and the State of Oregon, which are equal opportunity providers and employers. Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities.

Program: The Job Training Program provides case management services to youth with their educational and/ or workforce goals. Youth register and are in the program generally for a year or two, but are welcome to be with us as long or as little as they need. Youth must meet with their case manager at least once a month to remain active in the program.

The Job Training team is dedicated to making sure that barriers do not effect ability to access the program and the youth's goals. We can meet you at a coffee shop closer to where you are at, or provide access to bus passes or gas cards to access the program.

If you would prefer a Spanish speaking case manager, let us know!

The Job Training Program can help you with:

Educational Support: If you would like to re-engage in high school, a GED program or look at next steps, we are here for you! Riverfront has a GED program in house that we can support you in engaging with. If you would like to look at trainings or education past high school we can help you identify training programs, college programs and routes to get there such as scholarship searches, applications, school supplies and registration. If you are not currently interested in educational support - no worries! We can focus on just the Job part.

Career Exploration: We start wherever you currently are. Sometimes youth come to us and have never had a job and need help entering the workforce for the first time. Sometimes we get youth who have had a few jobs and are ready to start looking at long term gainful employment. We can help you with skills like resume building, job search skills, and exploring career paths. We will help you identify your interests, and explore in demand, well paying jobs that suit your wants and needs.

Eligibility:  Youth ages 14 – 24, low-income, and facing barriers to employment
