EWEB Grant Provides Funding for Electric Vehicle for New Roads Homeless Youth Program

New Roads staff members show off new electric car received via grant funding from EWEB.

In early 2025 Looking Glass New Roads homeless youth drop-in center received grant funding from Eugene Water & Electric Board to purchase a new electric vehicle that the program will use to run errands, provide outreach and assist youth clients with various needs.

“The grant for this electric car has saved us money on fuel costs and maintenance,” said Looking Glass Homeless Youth Services Director Ashley Kirkhart. “The vehicle has given New Roads the ability to give sustainable transportation to guests 16-24 years old. New Roads serves hundreds of meals monthly and the vehicle has supported in ensuring staff have transportation to meet the basic needs of our guests.”

Looking Glass is incredibly thankful to EWEB for this support!
