Looking Glass New Roads Kitchen Remodel is Underway

The existing kitchen at New Roads has been emptied out to prepare for construction to create a more functional space with a full stove/oven and proper ventilation.

Looking Glass New Roads Kitchen Remodel is underway and we need YOUR help with temporary outdoor kitchen services.

New Roads staff members moved the kitchen appliances and food out into the main entryway to be able to continue to provide meals during kitchen remodeling.

Beginning in May the New Roads day program for homeless youth services will begin construction on the current kitchen to enable cooking of full meals. To-date, the New Roads staff have been without adequate ventilation and equipment to provide a full kitchen and thus meals have been quite challenging to provide 3 times per day to homeless youth. With funding support from State Representative Nancy Nathanson, construction will take 2 months and thereafter a fully functional kitchen will be available to staff. In the meantime, however, the staff will be seeking alternative ways to provide meals. One such solution is to create a temporary outdoor kitchen in the parking lot at New Roads with tents and BBQ’s and other materials. If you are able, please consider donating:

• BBQ Propane Gas Tanks

• A Blackstone griddle

• Pop-Up Tents

• Outdoor seating supplies

• Food or funds
