Officially, the 2nd annual staff kickball tournament was held on Wednesday, July 20th at Tugman Park in Eugene - after the first year (way back in 2019) gave way to 2 years canceled by Covid. Looking Glass staff members competed from programs include the Regional Crisis Center, Homeless Youth Services, Rural Program and Adjudicated Youth Services while members of the admin staff cheered on.
“After 2 years of having to cancel our annual tournament due to COVID, we were excited to get back on the field this year to play for the Looking Glass Kickball championship!” Said Director of Homeless & Adjudicated Youth Services, Maleigha Myers said. “This annual team building event builds trust, encourages communication and increases collaboration between our homeless and residential programs. It’s so important to do something that is a bit adventurous compared to typical team building events; it gives employees something to look forward to throughout the year.”
The team from RCC took home this year’s trophy - but only after a narrowly won kickoff was held with one representative from each of the finalist team’s kicking as far as they could.
Thanks to all involved in organizing this staff gathering!
