Looking Glass CEO and President Craig Opperman (left) poses with Amy and Alex Haugland after presenting them with a framed thank you letter in appreciation of their support in a $50,000 donation match challenge gift during a celebration gathering at Hop Valley Brewing on Tuesday, July 16th.

A group of supporters, staff and board members gathered at Hop Valley in Eugene on Tuesday to thank Amy and Alex Haugland and recognize the impact of their help facilitating a $50,000 donation from Alex’s father’s Oregon Community Foundation fund. The Haugland’s offered these funds from the Richard P. Haugland Fund as a way to challenge other local donors to step up and try and raise $100,000 in total. Over the course of about 8 weeks, Looking Glass received donations large and small from roughly 85 generous individual donors and the full match was achieved!

Thank you to all of those donors and all of our supporters during this time. These funds have been crucial in helping us to maintain our runaway & homeless youth services outreach team after finishing a fiscal year in which we had not received an important federal grant which had previously funded the outreach services for about 18 years. We have just re-submitted that particular federal grant application again for the next cycle and will learn if we won it this time around in late September.

Thank you also to Hop Valley for hosting our celebration gathering!
