The week of June 3rd was Spirit Week at Looking Glass' Center Point School. The activities of the week ended with an open house at the school preceding graduation events on Thursday, June 13th.
Like most schools, Spirit Week is meant to help build the community of the school and serve as a send off for graduates. With fun days including Wild Hair/Hat Day and Dress Up/Dress Down Day, students and staff were able to send off the two graduates on an especially celebratory note.
Students served as the tour guides, showing around supporters, families, and staff from other Looking Glass programs. Posters and other displays highlighted the coursework that students completed this year, from learning about American artists in the 1960’s to human anatomy. The building has also seen some exciting changes this year including the expanded “Makerspace” where students work with Lego Mindstorms and 3D printers; that, along with the new murals adorning the interior school walls, the school had a lot to show off.
