University of Oregon sorority Kappa Delta held its annual Shamrock ‘N Roll lip-sync battle event on Saturday, Feb 16th at McArthur Court which generated a crowd of hundreds and helps raise funds for Looking Glass’ Station 7 program by donating a portion of the proceeds from the event.
Members of UO fraternities and sororities took turns performing while event supporters cheered on.
Gia Gershon-Friedberg, the Vice President of Community Service for Kappa Delta who organized the event, spoke to us about the values and scale of the fundraiser.
As a chapter we always look forward to working with Looking Glass Station 7 and truly believe the mission of the organization exemplifies Kappa Delta's values. With over 500 students in attendance at our lip sync battle philanthropy, we were incredibly proud to share our support and belief in the organization with the rest of the Greek community. We hope that we were able to demonstrate why it is important to support local causes and truly take an active role in the community we are privileged to be apart of. We cannot wait to make this event bigger in the future and we feel so grateful to Looking Glass for allowing us to put our values in action. - Gia Gershon-Friedberg, VP of Community Service
Looking Glass is honored to be a recipient of a portion of the proceeds from the event and is thankful to Kappa Delta for their ongoing support. Between the Shamrock event and the annual grilled cheese fundraiser, Kappa Delta has long been one of Looking Glass’s largest local fundraising organizations.
